2023 Kel Landis Service Award
Plexus’ hearts were once again filled as we watched cherished colleague and friend (and budding philanthropist), Kelly Lockamy, honored with the 2023 Kel Landis Service Award this past month at our firm’s annual holiday retreat.
The Kel Landis Service Award was established to honor esteemed friend, admired leader, and Plexus co-founder, Kel Landis. As in every area of his life, personally and professionally, he led by example. Kel’s legacy is marked by a noteworthy dedication to service his community, and accordingly, this service award is now presented annually to a Plexus Capital employee who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to service and makes significant contributions to his or her community.
Kelly arrived at Plexus in 2022 as a champion of giving back in as many ways as possible to the communities we live in. Kelly “walks the walk” as she continually advocates for a number of organizations Plexus is involved with throughout the year. She is a rallying figure around the office, always on the ground, helping to gather essential information, nurturing key community contacts, and managing logistics. On a very personal note, Kelly volunteers her own time on a weekly basis as a tutor to young teenage girls in the foster care system.
As a component of this award, Plexus donates $5000.00 to a charitable recipient of the honoree’s choice and Kelly, as a surprise to nobody that knows her, immediately went with two organizations very close to her heart and community activities: The Hope Center at Pullen and The Salvation Army of Wake County.
In recent years, The Kel Landis Service Award was bestowed upon Bob Anders in 2022 and Shannon Richmond in 2021.
